Frequently asked questions
The widget doesn't update.
iOS decides how often widgets refresh, typically every 15–30 minutes. Open the app once and the widget updates immediately. If it shows "Updated" with an old time, the phone hasn't had a network connection since.
The widget shows the wrong place.
The widget uses the place selected in the app. Change the place in the app — the widget follows at the next refresh.
It says "Local rules" next to a species.
This means the hunting hours for the species depend on area, sex or age in a way the app can't determine unambiguously for your location. Check the executive order or your local hunting association before heading out.
It says "Not verified" next to a species.
We have data for the species but haven't yet checked it against the current executive order. The species isn't shown as green until that's done. We're working through the list.
A hunting hour looks wrong.
Write to us. Tell us the species, place and date — we can check it against the executive order the same day. This is the most important report we can get.
The weather is missing or wrong.
Weather comes from DMI, with MET Norway as a fallback. Forecasts run about two days ahead at hourly resolution. If you pick a date further out, the app shows hunting hours and sunlight but no weather — that's not a bug.
What the app doesn't do.
Jagttider tells you which species have hunting hours. It doesn't tell you whether you may shoot — that also depends on area requirements, protected zones and your hunting rights. Always check local rules.
